Applying microcement to an outdoor table yourself
After sharing a few photos on Instagram, I received a lot of messages asking: “Where did that beautiful table come from?” Hereby... as promised, the step-by-step plan to make your own Eyecatcher.
Our picnic table and accompanying benches were in need of replacement, so we started looking for ideas to create a nice, sturdy look in the garden.
Microcement Netherlands
We came into contact with Microcement Nederland and because of the wide choice of colours and the ready-made package we were quickly convinced! Child can do the laundry!
I have to say: if you have no experience, follow the workshop at Microcement Nederland, they teach you exactly how to apply it and they can answer all your questions.
Suitable substrate
We reused the legs of our picnic table/benches and sanded them again and painted them black. Of course you can also choose to make the frame yourself and buy ready-made legs at the hardware store. Or you can use an existing table!
The most important thing for applying microcement is that the table is stable and flat!
Do you want to know if you can use Beton Cire on a certain material or existing table etc. then please ask Microcement Nederland. Beton Cire can be used for many purposes, including: In bathrooms, on tiles, walls, floors, countertops and furniture.
Benefits and inspiration
A very big tip! You will save a lot of money by doing this yourself, but take enough time for this project! We did it quite a while, because we did it in the hours after work and...
in between came the happy news that i was pregnant! Double celebration and despite the fact that it is a lot of work, it is very fun to do and... the end result is definitely something to be proud of!
For those of you who have been following me for a while and know me quite well... I love changing and styling things in my home and in our garden.
We have had double doors to the garden for a few months now! A real eye-catcher! This looks so cool with our tree trunk table with bench and 3 chairs in the kitchen.
A nice additional fact is that I can now also change dining tables, so if I get tired of the tree trunk table, I swap the table for the Microcement table with benches!
Ideal for all seasons. The Microcement table with benches will therefore regularly be in our house, if we can't use it outside, it can still be inside!
