Can microcement also be applied to an existing countertop?

Definitely! Our tip for new countertops is waterproof MDF, but existing tops can also be smeared with microcement. This must in all cases be a stable base. Examples of suitable bases include: natural stone, solid wood, waterproof multiplex, chipboard.

Can I do it myself?

Our motto is: “Anyone can apply microcement”. If you follow the right steps, there is enough time during the process to learn how to apply it properly.

Of course, we do recommend taking a workshop to get a feel for the product and to ask the questions that are important for your project.

The project consists of 5 steps, from primer to waterproof coating.

How much does a complete package cost?

A microcement package for the wall starts at just over €19/m² (PU coating optional). A countertop package costs around €39/m². The countertop package contains, compared to the Wall Basic package, a base layer of microcement and a strong PU coating that makes everything waterproof.

Can microcement withstand water and oil splashes?

Yes, microcement is, after applying and curing the 2 components PU Coating for a few weeks, completely resistant to water and oil splashes. It is advisable to clean your wall or countertop in time to prevent it from being absorbed.
